Position: HUNAP Intern
Level: Undergraduate or Graduate
Semester: 2022 – 2023 Academic Year
Hours: 10-12 hours per week, depending on availability and/or course load
Setting: Office, In-person
Payment: Paid Internship
Rate: $17.00-$17.50/hr - Undergraduate $18.00-$18.50/hr – Graduate
Seeking 2 students to fulfill the paid internship.
Internship Objective: The intern will help organize, arrange, catalogue, digitize, process, and house materials from HUNAP into archival collections.
Internship Supervision: Intern is managed directly by HUNAP’s Executive Director with input from the Assistant Director, Administrative Assistant, and Faculty Director.
Responsibilities & Duties:
- Assist with organizing, arranging, cataloging, and processing HUNAP materials
- Assist with an assessment and review of materials
- Creating an inventory, catalog, and/or database of materials
- Utilize digitization equipment including scanners and cameras
- Help identify and assess the archival value of materials
- Assist in the physical arrangement of archival materials, including sorting, boxing, rehousing, and labeling
- Preparing spaces for temporary or longterm storage of materials
- Additional office and administrative assistance as needed
Skills and Qualifications:
- Current Harvard student in good standing
- Ability to work with Excel and database management
- Ability to learn archival standards and procedures
- Ability to work independently with guidance and direction
- Ability to work as part of a team
- High degree of selfmotivation, self-management, and detail orientation
- Ability to give oral or written reports to rest of staff about the status of the project
- Ability to communicate effectively and promptly
Ability to work with timelines and deadlines
