This course will provide you with a basic understanding and overview of the fundamental principles of public land law and federal natural resource management. The class covers general principles and several federal resources management regimes with a brief focus on national forests and national parks. Students will understand the rules of federal preemption and how they apply in a variety of contexts and classification of public lands. Students will be able to analyze and understand the mechanisms in place for the conservation and exploitation of natural resources on the public lands.
